Application Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of SmartShelf, an application for cataloging, organizing, searching, and managing personal belongings and household inventory.

By accessing or using SmartShelf, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

You may need an account to use SmartShelf. You are responsible for keeping your account and devices secure and for all activity under your account.

You may sign in with email/password or supported third-party providers such as Google, Yandex, or Apple. Third-party login is also subject to the terms and policies of the relevant provider.

You keep ownership of the photos, item descriptions, tags, names, notes, and other content you add to SmartShelf.

You grant SmartShelf a limited right to store, process, display, and analyze your content only as needed to provide and improve the application, including item recognition, search, organization, backups, diagnostics, and security.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and process the content you add.

SmartShelf may use automated recognition and AI-assisted processing to identify items, extract text, suggest tags, categories, descriptions, or other metadata.

AI and automated recognition can be incomplete or incorrect. You should review important results before relying on them, especially for medicine, safety equipment, valuable items, legal documents, expiry dates, or anything where a mistake could cause harm or loss.

You agree not to misuse SmartShelf, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, abuse rate limits, upload unlawful content, infringe third-party rights, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or use the application to harm others.

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe an account or activity violates these terms, creates security risk, or may harm the service or other users.

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using SmartShelf, you acknowledge that we process data as described there.

SmartShelf may change over time. Features may be added, modified, limited, or removed. We may perform maintenance, update infrastructure, or change technical requirements.

We try to keep the application reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

If SmartShelf is offered as early access, beta, trial, or experimental functionality, it may contain bugs, limitations, or incomplete features.

If paid features are introduced, pricing, billing terms, cancellation rules, and refund terms will be provided before purchase or subscription.

SmartShelf is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free performance.

SmartShelf is not a medical, safety, legal, insurance, or professional inventory valuation tool.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmartShelf / MapYourThings will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goods, or business interruption arising from use of the application.

You may stop using SmartShelf at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting hello@mapyourthings.com.

We may suspend or terminate access if required by law, for security reasons, or for material violation of these terms.

We may update these terms when the application, legal requirements, or our business practices change. The updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
